Meet Jarred

 

Hello!

I'm Jarred, an adventurous spirit with a passion for embracing life's unexpected twists and turns. My journey began in the great outdoors during Boy Scouts, where I discovered the joy of exploring nature and challenging myself.

Those early experiences ignited a love for outdoor adventures, from rugged hikes to wilderness survival, shaping not just my hobbies but also my perspective on life. Despite enjoying various sports, I never saw myself as a runner initially. The limited portrayal of runners in media made me question if I belonged in that world. However, a move to Arizona introduced me to Black Men Run Phoenix, a supportive community that changed everything.

With their encouragement, I dove into distance running, from 5Ks to 100-mile races. Today, I'm a mix of trail enthusiast and road runner, passionate about helping others achieve their running goals while embracing their unique journey.

My Philosophy

I believe that the essence of running goes beyond just the physical activity; it's about fostering a community, building connections, and creating an environment where individuals feel valued. 

Whether you're a seasoned marathoner, a trail enthusiast, or someone taking their first steps in the running world, my coaching approach is tailored to meet your individual needs. I aim to create a supportive and adaptable training environment where every runner can thrive, regardless of their preferred distance or the surface they choose to conquer. By embracing the diversity of abilities within the running community, I strive to empower each athlete to reach their full potential and find joy in the journey of becoming a better runner.

For me, running is not just a sport; it's a journey of self-discovery, growth, and joy. I work with you to create a training system that prioritizes having fun and learning, recognizing that enjoyment is a powerful motivator that contributes to long-term success. 

Additionally, I emphasize the significance of staying healthy, both physically and mentally. A balanced and sustainable approach to training is crucial for overall well-being. I will work with you to create a plan that balances life and running stressors.

I will continuously strive to create a space where each individual feels seen and supported. Personalized attention, encouragement, and a sense of belonging are integral components of my coaching philosophy. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire and empower runners to achieve their aspirations while promoting a culture of positivity and inclusivity.
